Snow Much Fun

Oh, these Colorado boys!  When we woke up to three inches of snow and a blizzard in progress, all I wanted to do was stay in our PJs and play all day.  The children, of course, had other plans!

It all started when we noticed how many birds were at our bird feeder, quickly emptying the seeds.  Then our resident squirrel arrived, seeking shelter from the wind but also just delighting in running off the birds.

We had a heel piece of bread leftover from our breakfast toast, so Sam let the boys take it out to Mr. Squirrel while he refilled our other bird feeder (not shown in this photo).
I thought for sure once Ryan felt how cold it was outside we would retreat to the basement and resume our train layout building (and destroying - thanks, Jackers).

Oh, how wrong I was!  It doesn't help that Sam is not much of a relaxer - he's got to be working on something, so he decided he was going to shovel the driveway, and the boys got excited to go out with him.

John Deere Earth Mover Action features a significant amount of snowplows, so Ryan and Jack were anxious to take out their Hot Wheels snowplow (among other diggers, dump trucks, gators, etc.) and make a contribution to Dad's snow shoveling efforts.
It was cold, windy, and otherwise blizzard-y but these boys were not going to be deterred!

I think there may be a few vehicles that are currently snug in a snowy bed and won't be found until the snow melts! Meanwhile, I had the "Sounds of Aloha" channel playing on Pandora.
