Today we decided to drive to the light rail station and take the train downtown to visit a playground we have driven past a few times.
It's a very cool, modern playground with a variety of open-ended play structures.
Unfortunately there was no shade over the structures, so the slides and other surfaces were really hot. We headed over to the large sandbox, conveniently stocked with pails and shovels.
Sam showed the boys how to dig down to the damp sand and pack it into the castle-shaped forms.
After a while the lack of shade made me concerned about sunburn, so we dusted off and wandered into downtown Denver in search of lunch. We stopped at Mad Greens for salad and grilled cheese sandwiches, then boarded the train to return to the 'burbs for naptime.
