Wish You Were Here

We should all get an automatic holiday when the temperature goes above 65 degrees during the winter months - then our husbands could have joined Sommer and I (and the dogs and babies) at Lair O' the Bear open space today:

A-loooooooow-ha!

Sam and I fell in love with the Hawaiian island of Kauai when we spent our honeymoon/1st anniversary there. We ended up buying a timeshare at the Point at Poipu resort, and we have returned twice since (once with a side trip to the Big Island). We didn't get to go in 2008 because of my pregnancy, so shortly after Ryan was born I booked our 2009 week. I recently got a great deal on airfare, so we are definitely headed to the Garden Isle the third week in September.

Here's Sam giving Ryan an idea of what to expect:

More Friends

I met Sommer in my prenatal yoga class. She was due 10 days before me, but ended up delivering Mackenzie three days after Ryan arrived. We take the babies and the dogs for hikes on Green Mountain, and attend the Survival for New Moms group at Lutheran. Here's Ryan putting the moves on Kenz:

And today we had a friend come visit Casey - Cooper is the doggie across the street. They like to wrestle and fight over the same tennis ball (even though the yard is littered with tennis balls).

Friends

Ryan has been quite social lately. On Friday, we went to the Garden and Home Show at the Convention Center with my friend Julie, her son Vaughn and her daughter Kyla, and my neighbor Lyndsay and her daughter Alison.

Then on Saturday we visited the newest addition to the gang, William Cooper Hace, born Thursday February 12 at 3:10 pm. At 7 lbs 1 oz, he is almost exactly half the size of our little chunk:

But he looks scrappy, so I imagine he'll hold his own:

Can you tell Sam's excited?

Lazy Saturday Morning

Long gone are the days when Sam and I could sleep away the morning on the weekends, but we don't mind when we wake up to this adorable face:

Sea Life

We are slowly transitioning Ryan from sleeping in the bassinet in our room to the crib in the nursery. Here is his first experience with the fishy mobile:

Where Has the Time Gone?

Today is Ryan's 2 month birthday. How has it already been two months? And, how has it ONLY been two months? It feels like this guy has been a part of our lives forever, which is a wonderful feeling.

Yesterday he got his first round of immunizations, which consisted of three shots in the thigh and one oral dose. Oh, it was so awful - and Ryan didn't like it either. He is a tough kiddo, though.

Some recent photos:

(This was right after a bath - I wish you could smell his wonderful clean baby smell! The patch on his outfit says "Mommy's New Man")
